Hanwha Vision, a global vision solution provider, has been honored with the ‘Product of the Year” award for its groundbreaking dual-sensor Barcode Reader (BCR) camera at the prestigious Finest Skills & Talents (FIST) Awards 2025. The FIST Awards are India’s premier accolades for the fire safety and security industry, initiated by the Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI) in partnership with PwC.
The award ceremony, held on September 11, 2025, at Taj Vivanta in New Delhi, recognized the dual-sensor BCR camera for its innovative combination of a barcode reader and a 4K resolution camera. This unique, industry-first device is designed to replace separate barcode readers and CCTV systems, offering significant savings in physical space, installation time, and maintenance costs for logistics and e-commerce businesses.
The dual-sensor BCR camera’s key benefits include:
- Integrated Barcode and Video: The camera automatically reads 1D/2D barcodes on high-speed conveyors at a speed of 2m/s while simultaneously capturing high-resolution 4K video. This eliminates the need for manual scanning, allowing businesses to process a higher volume of packages with fewer staff and increase capacity.
- Enhanced Accuracy: An AI-powered scanning engine ensures high accuracy, even when reading barcodes on damaged boxes. This feature reduces the need for rescanning and helps prevent delivery failures, a common issue in e-commerce.
- Efficient Problem-Solving: The integrated video footage allows for quick playback, significantly reducing the time spent investigating delivery issues or lost items. This provides a clear, visual record for tracing packages.
- Simplified Operations: By combining two devices into one, the camera reduces hardware complexity and the total cost of ownership. It requires fewer devices, cables, and mounts, streamlining the entire logistics setup.
- Seamless Integration: The device offers easy integration with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) via APIs, facilitating faster decision-making, automated sorting, routing, and loading based on barcode data.
“The recognition highlights the market need for innovative logistics solutions,” said Soumik Ghosh, Product & Solution PM at Hanwha Vision, India and South Asia. “This industry-first product was developed to resolve a critical industrial problem by replacing separate BCR and CCTV installations with a single, highly efficient device.”
Ajay Dubey, Director of Hanwha Vision, South Asia, added, “We are honored that the distinguished FIST Committee chose our BCR camera for this award. This recognition is a reliable indicator for decision-makers seeking the most preferred choice. Our state-of-the-art solution resolves the crucial industrial challenge of tracking and tracing packages, guaranteeing swift video retrieval for analysis and reducing downtime and revenue loss for our customers.”
