The TNO-C4050T is a 19 mm tele-lens thermal network camera built for monitoring wide open areas, port facilities, border lines and long perimeters in complete darkness. Where a standard visible-light camera fails in total darkness, fog or direct sun glare, this camera converts heat signatures into usable images and detects people, vehicles and vessels. It's a common choice for warehouse perimeters, factory fence lines, port quaysides and industrial site boundaries that need coverage over long distances.

Key Features

• 19 mm focal length for long-range coverage: Per Johnson's criteria, person detection reaches 652 m and vehicle detection reaches 1,667 m, with vehicle recognition at 417 m. A single unit can therefore cover a long perimeter line from one mounting point.
• ≤16mK NETD sensitivity: Distinguishes targets with very small temperature differences, picking out a moving person from the background even in fog, smoke or dust.
• AI-based person/vehicle/vessel detection: Detects a person from up to 159 m, a vehicle from 227 m, and a vessel from as far as 542 m in wide view — useful for spotting an approaching boat early at coastal or port sites.
• Upscaling to 1280x960 with 30fps streaming: The native 640x480 thermal sensor output is processed at 30fps across all resolution options, keeping footage smooth and trackable.
• MIL-STD, NEMA 4X and NEMA TS rated: Passed vibration, shock, salt-fog and extreme-temperature tests; rated for -40°C to +60°C operation, suited to piers, customs yards or mountain passes.
• IP66, IP67 and IK10 rated housing: Withstands rain, dust, temporary flooding and physical impact, so it can be pole-mounted outdoors without extra enclosures.

Typical deployments include warehouse perimeter fencing and truck yards for logistics operators, factory fence lines and material storage areas for manufacturers, quaysides and vessel approach zones for port operators, and large grounds or wooded boundaries for gated communities. It can flag intrusion attempts at night that would go unnoticed to the human eye, without relying on any visible light.

The camera includes onboard analytics such as line crossing, area intrusion, loitering and object disappearance, each of which can trigger SD card recording, email notification or an alarm output. An RS-485 serial interface and 2 configurable I/O ports allow integration with existing alarm panels or PTZ systems. It's powered via PoE or 12VDC, with typical consumption around 7.4W.
