The SPI-BBM0 is a blue LED illumination module designed to work with the TNS-7000M license plate recognition (BCR) camera and its SLM-5M12 lens. It is used in applications where vehicle plates must be read clearly at night or in low light, such as highway toll booths, fuel stations, logistics warehouse entry/exit gates, and parking barrier points. Mounted directly on the camera body, it illuminates the plate area evenly and reduces recognition errors for OCR software.

Key Features

• 16 LEDs at a 455nm wavelength reduce glare on the plate surface compared to white light, improving character contrast and lowering the chance of OCR misreads.
• A 25° FWHM beam angle (46° at the 10% level) keeps the light focused on a single lane's plate without spilling into adjacent lanes and dazzling other drivers.
• IP66/IP67 protection — achieved when the camera and front cover are assembled together — means no separate housing is needed under a rainy toll canopy or an open-air parking entrance.
• An operating range of -40°C to +55°C allows reliable use at border crossings in winter climates as low as -30°C and at fuel stations in southern regions where summer temperatures reach 50°C.
• 24 VDC ± 10% input and 6.9 W power consumption let it draw power from the existing camera line without an additional power supply.
• At 101.2 x 53.8 x 78.2 mm and 200 grams, it mounts on the TNS-7000M without adding noticeable bulk or weight.

This module is compatible only with the TNS-7000M camera and SLM-5M12 lens combination; it is not recommended for other plate recognition cameras. It is commonly specified for logistics vehicle entry/exit logging, factory and industrial park vehicle tracking points, and subscription-based access control at residential and shopping center parking areas. The IP66/IP67 rating means no extra enclosure is required for open-area installations without a toll booth cabin.
