The SPI-BBW0 is a blue LED illumination module designed to work with the TNS-7000M camera and SLM-5M06 lens. It provides supplementary lighting at the wavelength required by 3MP BCR (license plate recognition) cameras. It's used as a complementary accessory in applications where accurate plate reading matters most: parking lot entrances, customs checkpoints, logistics facility vehicle gates, and site barrier systems.

Standard white light isn't always desirable in plate recognition setups; what's needed is illumination that improves plate readability without glaring at drivers. The SPI-BBW0's 455nm blue LEDs are positioned exactly for this purpose.

• 455nm wavelength, 16 LEDs: Blue light tuned to reduce reflection off plate surfaces helps keep plate characters sharp and readable at night-time checkpoints.
• 60° / 88° beam angle options (FWHM / 10%): With both narrow and wide angle data available, light distribution can be planned according to lane width — whether it's a single-lane warehouse gate or a multi-lane customs crossing.
• IP66/IP67 protection rating: Achieved when the camera and front cover are assembled together, allowing use at open-air parking entrances and outdoor barrier points exposed directly to rain and dust without an additional enclosure.
• -40°C to +55°C operating range: The module keeps working reliably through cold winter nights in northern regions and hot summer days at outdoor barrier points alike.
• 24 VDC ±10% input, 6.9 W power consumption: Low power draw means it can be integrated into the existing camera power line without adding significant load, usually without needing a separate power supply.
• Compact 200g body (101.2 x 53.8 x 78.2 mm): Sized to mount directly onto the TNS-7000M camera housing, so it doesn't take up extra space in existing brackets or enclosures.

Use Cases

The SPI-BBW0 is used to improve plate-reading accuracy of existing recognition cameras at logistics center vehicle gates, factory and industrial zone entrances, and shopping mall or residential complex parking lanes with insufficient night lighting. It's especially preferred in projects where light pollution needs to be minimized and driver-friendly illumination is required — blue LED lighting is chosen for exactly this reason.
